Welcome to the official Pichvi website! You've probably come here from NationStates, so here's a little guide to the website! The Regions section talks about our, well... regions. The Politics & Government section talks about our political factions. The Armed Forces section talks about our army, navy, and air force. The Flags section talks about not only our flags but also other national symbols. The language section includes information about our many unique languages and dialects. The culture, tourism, and industry sections are self-explanatory. Toodles!
Pichvi is a historical union between 3 nations (Hartl, Davslak, and Visel). The country has a great environment and culture; we have cool sights such as the 5-headed donkey (praise be), the beaches of Delta and Visel, and the cold, rainy mountains of Davslak. Here, we value good morals and family. Go to the tourism section to learn more about our glorious state's great sights! We are also a nation of industry and might! Our factories produce everyday goods that your homeland needs! Head on over to the industry section to learn more. We hope you stay and visit us in the near future!
Pichvi is a parliamentary democracy, here is the result of the last election in December of 2024:
>Pichvian is not a singualar language, many Pichvian languages exist, here is a chart of them:
Here is a map that shows language ranges:
Red: Biuian (Almost endangered) | Brown: Visel | Green: Standard Pichvian | Purple: Hartl | Orange: Furi | Yellow: Davslak
Standard Pichvian was formed out of the Hartl language as a base and using other Pichvian languages for sertain words and grammar. It was created in the 18th century after the second full unification of Hartl, Davslak, Biu, Plata and Visel. Most of these people couldn't comunicate together well, so a language was made to unite them and make talking easier. During the Communist Revolution, the language underwent radical reforms: several letters were removed for being deemed “excesses,” spellings were simplified to match phonetics, and regional dialects were suppressed in favor of a unifying national standard. This is the version we use today.
The cultural and historical foundation of Pichvi begins with the ancient Kingdoms of Hartl, Visel, and Davslak, each with distinct identities: Hartl, the most populated; Visel, the local coastal power; and Davslak, known for its mountains, isolation, and spiritualism. These three rival kingdoms were first unified under the banner of the First United Kingdom of Pichvi. This unification enabled rapid expansion into surrounding territories, including Plata, Biu, and Ritler. However, internal strife and dynastic disputes fractured the royal house of Gerb, leading to the fall of the first kingdom and the rise of the Second Kingdom, formed after violent succession conflicts that only further destabilised the realm. In the early 20th century, a communist revolution overthrew the monarchy, installing a populist regime that aimed to abolish class divides. During this period, the Visel Free State declared independence, operating as a sovereign republic for five years before being reabsorbed into the nation after a violent 4-year-long conflict. Today, Pichvi is a socialist democracy, though somewhat riddled with political nepotism. Still, it stands united and proud!
Pichvian culture is very unique due to its regional diversity and complex history. The official language, Standard Pichvian, is widely spoken alongside various dialects rooted in Hartl, Davslak, and Visel origins. Religion plays a subtle role in daily life. This is because religion was banned during the communist era of the nation; currently the most popular region is Christianity. Notably, in the Delta region, a rapidly growing Five-Headed Donkey cult has taken root —originating from a donkey that lived in the Delta museum gift shop that somehow teleported to every known nuclear meltdown in history. The Donkey cult is now recognised as part of Delta's heritage, with nonbelievers being burnt at the stake.
